grace coddington launches a fragrance with comme des garçons
The fashion visionary collaborated with the iconic brand on the playful perfume.
Throughout her career as a model -- and later as creative director of American Vogue -- Grace Coddington has always had an affinity for fragrance. When she first started out as a model, she wore Floris's classic Red Rose eau de toilette. She wore Calvin Klein when she worked for the brand, then Chanel No. 19 when she moved to Vogue. Later, Hermés' Rose Ikebana Hermessence perfume caught the creative director's scent. "My mother had a rose garden, and it just never occurred to me to smell like any other smell except rose," she revealed to Vogue.
Now that she's taken a step back from the iconic magazine, Grace has found a new fragrance -- one that she teamed up with Comme des Garçons to create herself. A blend of peach blossom, white musk, amber crystal and, of course, Moroccan rose, Grace by Grace Coddington is presented playfully in a cat-shaped bottle. The new fragrance from one of fashion's finest visionaries will be available at Dover Street Market on April 19.
