A newly launched event series will celebrate the evolving diversity of Bushwick's arts scene with some of the most dynamic performances of post-summer. BOOM — which stands for Bushwick Organizers + Owners Movement — is set to take over the neighborhood from September 29 with four days of music, dance, and one epic 12-hour rave cave featuring sets from local late-night luminaries Kim Ann Foxman, Octo Octa, LSDXOXO, and Suzi Analogue. The "Boom Rave" is curated by inclusive DJ collective Discwoman, a platform dedicated to championing cis women, trans women, and gender queer talent taking on the male dominated world of dance music.

One of the most exciting events on the lineup is an immersive video and performance series helmed by Monica Mirabile of FlucT. The showcase will act as the premiere of a new film by Dev Hynes, whose recent screen projects include scoring a Gucci fashion film by Gia Coppola and directing a short film called God Bless the Child. Mirabile's performance will "investigate what happens when we fall," and also feature House of Ladosha, Eartheater, and her FlucT partner Sigrid Lauren. Other goings-on worth bookmarking include an art exhibition curated by Grace Miceli of Art Baby and a Papi Juice dance party celebrating queer and trans people of color. If the 12-hour marathon rave sounds a little daunting, there's also a shorter Discwoman showcase with a very solid lineup including TYGAPAW, SHYBOI, and BEARCAT.

Best of all, every event is free with RSVP. Check out the full calendar below.
