Having released his excellent, funk-filled new album Awaken, My Love! on December 2, Childish Gambino has now revealed an atmospheric virtual reality clip for opening track "Me and Your Mama." Filmed at the artist's secretive listening party (fans's phones were sealed in bags) and camping festival PHAROS — held at Joshua Tree in September — the 360 degree video allows viewers to scroll around the live performance, checking out the stage view, as well as the audience.

The mega talented, multi-hyphenate artist — otherwise known as Donald Glover, writer and star of hit TV show Atlanta, and who plays Lando Calrissian in the new Star Wars film Rogue One — is also an awesome live performer. With his band positioned amongst an iceberg-like landscape, playing under Northern Lights-style projections, Gambino enters wearing African body art in UV paint and a grass skirt, long plaits of hair swinging around his body as he dances, paces, and emotes the track's lovelorn lyrics.

To experience the video's full 360 degree effect, you can download the Pharos app to turn your phone into a VR headset. Alternatively, scroll around the version below.
