It's now been more than two weeks since Frank Ocean finally dropped his long-awaited album Blond and its accompanying zine. The latter came with a cryptic and extensive list of the album's collaborators, name-checking artists including but definitely not limited to: David Bowie, Kanye West, Jamie xx, Kendrick Lamar, Beyoncé, the Beatles, André 3000, Brian Eno, Arca, Pharrell, Gang of Four, SebastiAn, Yung Lean, and Elliott Smith. But bar a few easily discernible samples — including Elliott Smith's "A Fond Farewell" on "Seigfried" and the Beatles' "Here, There, and Everywhere" on "White Ferrari" — no one knew for sure who actually helped write Ocean's tracks and who simply provided inspiration.

Pitchfork now notes that songwriting royalty database ASCAP has been updated with the credits for at least 12 of the album's 17 tracks. While it reveals that Bowie and Frank's mom didn't actually help pen tracks during the four years it took Ocean to complete the album, there are plenty of other interesting surprises. Those who get songwriting credits include Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams, Jamie xx, Rostam Batmanglij, James Blake, Tyler, the Creator, and frequent Ocean collaborator Om'Mas Keith. Ocean also samples not just Smith and the Beatles but post-punk group Gang of Four and funk/soul session musicians Mohawks.
