Katie Hillier - Creative Director of Marc by Marc Jacobs and heading up her own Hillier jewellery line - has added festive cheer to one of her favourite London restaurants, Bistrotheque. She's on fun form, with giant pom poms, balloons, garlands, xmas trees and bunnies (stealing them from Easter) in black and metallics.

"I was thrilled to be asked to decorate the space for Christmas," Hillier said. "We wanted to make Bistrotheque feel like it's dressed in giant, wild versions of our [Hillier] jewellery. Lots of gold!"

She follows in the footsteps of other designers, including wool-loving Sibling, who created a "Knitivity" Christmas last year, Louise Gray and Julie Verhoeven. It's not the first time Hillier has worked with the Bistrotheque boys - her friends David Waddington and Pablo Flack. Back in 2006, she made the fluorescent lazer-cut Christmas decorations for their Christmas pop-up Reindeer restaurant.

Waddington and Flack are also behind Hoi Polloi at Ace Hotel London Shoreditch, where buzzed-about womenswear designer Ed Marler has created a Christmas tree. Normally open on Christmas Day, Bistrotheque is having a break this year, with everyone expected to decamp to sister restaurant Hoi Polloi
