The newly-named Bright Old Things proves that creativity isn't something age-defined, and will highlight 14 colourful personalities between their mid-40s and early-80s, who have turned to the worlds of fashion, music, art and design in later life. Whether it's 82-year-old editor-turned-painter Molly Parkin or 55-year-old retailer-turned-designer Nick Wooster, each Bright Old Thing has an inspiring story to tell, and thanks to their very own window display at the Oxford Street flagship store, now has the platform to tell it. In addition to the 14 individually designed windows, which will be unveiled today, Selfridges will be hosting numerous events from now until February, including a specific program for London Collections: Men. To celebrate such an inspiring venture, over the next few months i-D will be delving deeper into the wonderful world of the Bright Old Things, and introducing you to some of the brightest. But if you can't wait till then, below is a sneak peek of what to expect.
