Victoria's Secret model Bridget Malcolm has defended her right to maintain a slim physique after becoming the victim of "skinny shaming" on Instagram. The 25-year-old Australian, who walked the runway at last week's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, posted a picture of herself in training gear with a firmly-worded caption urging: "Can we STOP with the skinny shaming please?" After a similar selfie of her drew criticism because of how thin she looked, with commentors labeling her "a terrible role model for young girls" and accusing her of being anorexic.

"I am extremely fit and healthy and am not in the slightest way anorexic," she later wrote. "I have worked hard to look like this and am proud of my body. I may not be the curviest but I am a woman who has every right to look the way I do. Maybe today take a look inside yourself and wonder why you feel the need to shame strangers over the Internet about their bodies. Peace and love to you all - let's change the conversation."

Malcolm's call to "change the conversation" about models' body shapes follows a similarly impassioned Instagram post from Gigi Hadid in September. Hadid, who also walked in last week's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, responded to negative comments about her relatively curvy physique by telling critics: "Your mean comments don't make me want to change my body. They don't make me want to say no to the designers that ask me to be in their shows - and they definitely don't change the designers opinions of me."
