A Sai Ta, 26, Central Saint Martins

What was the inspiration behind your collection?
The grind of growing up in London. My mum and my sisters were my muses.

If you could dress any couple, who would it be?
Jean Reno and Natalie Portman in Léon.

What do you love doing most?
Dancing in my room and dropping it down low everywhere!

Rachel Raheja, 26, Westminster
When did you fall in love with fashion?
I can't remember when I wasn't in love with fashion. Ever since I was really young I used to spend my pocket money on fashion magazines.

What was the inspiration behind your collection?
The works of modernist British sculptor Barbara Hepworth. I also took a lot of inspiration from 50s womenswear.

If you could dress any couple, who would it be?
Giovanna Battaglia and Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld.

When did you first fall in love?
Probably like most people, in my teens. I became obsessed with everything: people, places, things...

James Kelly, 24, Royal College of Art

What do you love about your collection?
The romantic strangeness in it, it's something that's rooted in one thing and then ambiguously becomes something else.

When did you fall in love with fashion?
The Dior autumn/winter 05 couture show. It took me to a dream world where clothes told a story. I fell in love with it all -  the workmanship and the imagination.

What was the inspiration behind your collection?
It was about capturing a moment. A flashback of an ex-boyfriend that comes rushing in when a girl wears a jacket of his. This creates an emotional storm which distorts the clothes, making them fall off or fill up with wind.

Janni Turtiainen, 26, Royal College of Art

When did you fall in love with fashion?
When I started to make a collection for the first time. Before that it was just a crush and confusion.

What was the inspiration behind your collection?
Helene Schjerfbeck's expressive self-portraits and the idea of people inside paradoxical structures. It ended up being a series of three-dimensional self-portraits.

If you could dress any couple, who would it be?
Casey Legler and Tilda Swinton.

When did you first fall in love?
I find myself constantly in love. I can't remember when it all started.
