david bowie was going to be in the new season of 'twin peaks'
Fellas, coincidence, and fate figure largely in our lives...
It is one of the strangest roles in a series of strange roles but, according to reports in the Dallas Morning News, David Bowie had been planning on reprising his part in the new series of Twin Peaks. In an interview with actor Harry Goaz — who is returning as hapless Deputy Andy Brennan in the show — it is revealed that Bowie was set to make a cameo as the long lost FBI agent Phillip Jeffries, providing answers to questions such as, "Who is Judy?" and, "If Bowie really was an agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, how on earth did he get away with a suit like that?"
If you have no idea what we're talking about, check out a clip of his role from 1992 prequel film Fire Walk With Me below. The David Lynch-helmed cult favorite will return at some point in 2017 and while we currently have no idea where the third season will lead us, we have a definite feeling it will be a place both wonderful and strange.
