Netflix’s latest teen comedy Dude is the high school version of Girls Trip. Why? Because the two feel-good films capture women having fun that’s not dependent on men. Dude centers on four girls being sexually free, smoking weed, and throwing a middle finger up to the patriarchy. It stars Lucy Hale as college-bound stoner girl Lily. Warning: there’s a high ratio of bongs and dick jokes, which is why the film will premiere on the infamous date of 4/20.

“Would you rather have penises for fingers or vaginas for ears?” Lily and her friends ask, debating the age old question while kicking back at the pool. Then rapper/actress Awkwafina delivers this brilliant rationale: “If you had dick fingers, you could not wear rings. But if you had vaginas for ears, you could wear earrings!”

Dude is written and directed by Olivia Milch. Olivia has experience crafting female-centric bangers. She co-wrote the upcoming Ocean’s 8 (which stars badass women like Rihanna, Anne Hathaway, and Mindy Kaling). Dude features an impressive cast of young stars, including Alex Wolff (formerly of The Naked Brothers Band) and Love, Simon star Alexandra Shipp.
