paris hilton is producing a paris hilton documentary
That's hot: the original reality TV queen is heading to the big screen.
More than a decade has passed since Paris Hilton first turned the (flip-phone) camera on herself during a game-changing guest spot on The O.C., literally single-handedly predicting the rise of the selfie. Now the original reality queen is turning her life into a bonafide big screen movie. The Paris Hilton-produced Paris Hilton documentary doesn't yet have an official title and hasn't started filming, but it has already technically appeared at Cannes Film Festival. 9.14 Pictures and XYZ Films are using the event as a platform to introduce the "unflinching, authorized" film about the life of the "businesswoman, entrepreneur and media icon," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"Paris Hilton is a modern day Marilyn Monroe — beautiful, iconized, world famous, shaped by mass media, and misunderstood," said the film's directors, Don Argott and Sheena Joyce of 9.14 Pictures. "We are thrilled to work with Paris to explore her complicated relationship with the public, the press, and the politics that shape our perception of a modern celebrity." The documentary will also examine the impact that the Simple Life icon's image has had on the young women of today.
9.14 Pictures will be producing the project along with Hilton and celebrity artist manager Jamie Freed. Filming will begin at the end of the summer in Ibiza, where Hilton frequently performs as Resident DJ at Amnesia Ibiza's Foam Party.
