"New York runs on a different clock than the rest of the world. Most creative people who thrive here couldn't be adequately stimulated, challenged, satiated by the natural flow of any other place."

L-Vis 1990, music producer/DJ, photographed near his studio in Greenpoint.
"It's the small day to day things and encounters with people that make NYC special for me. A conversation with a bodega dude at 5am, an Uber ride back from JFK bumping HOT 97 with a driver from my neighborhood. I love hearing stories about what led people to the city."

L-Vis wears coatsweater, and backpack Coach.

"No matter what walk of life you come from, everyone is here hustling to achieve something and it feels like we are all in it together. That collective energy really inspired me and pushes me to create non-stop."

"The Deep End Club is my clubhouse. It's an activist community center and shop selling things made by local artists and designers. We also have gigs, teach-ins, and arts and crafts workshops."
