i-D August 2014 Mixtape

Never has a month disappeared as fast as this. As time flew by, August 2014 saw more music than it did mad weather, but the rain seems to have nourished the sonic soil and i-D have picked nothing but the ripest musical fruit from the audio orchards.

Never has a month disappeared as fast as this. As time flew by, August 2014 saw more music than it did mad weather, but the rain seems to have nourished the sonic soil and i-D have picked nothing but the ripest musical fruit from the audio orchards.
We open the mixtape with a solid soulful return from Kindness featuring Kelela followed by incredible new delights from Kaytranada, i-D favourite Little Simz, Stwo, Caribou and Ryan Hemsworth and Sohn. i-D's August mixtape also comes with new material from unsung musical minds including Raury, Les Sins, Sudan's Zen-Zin & Pawcut, Jay Prince and Mura Masa, closed of in true Notting Hill Carnival style by the legendary Shy FX with his reggae remix of London Grammar.

This months artwork comes courtesy of Minneapolis based illustrator Eddie Perrote. His drawings and paintings are dense and elaborate images dripping with hyper-saturated pigments: inspired by a devotion to form, pattern, and colour born from a love of all things bright and shiny.
