After months of waiting for news of a public memorial, Prince fans have been given word that an official tribute concert will be held in the late star's hometown of Minneapolis this October. Prince's siblings told The Associated Press that the concert will take place on October 13, at the U.S. Bank Stadium. Tickets will go on sale in coming weeks, and the lineup of performers will be rolled out over the next month.

Since the musician passed away, on April 21, countless celebrities have paid tribute to The Purple One, with the likes of Beyoncé, D'Angelo, Madonna, and Stevie Wonder all covering Prince hits. Considering this fan base, there's little doubt we'll see some icons take the stage in October.

"We are excited for the opportunity to bring everyone together for the official celebration of Prince's life, music, and legacy," Prince's family said, in a statement to the AP. "We are honored by the artists who will pay tribute and grateful to those that have worked so hard to make this celebration possible."
