get ready for a 'trainspotting' sequel
Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television to watch Trainspotting II on.
Next year marks the 20th anniversary of Danny Boyle's gritty masterpiece. To celebrate, he's announced an impending sequel to his cult 90s classic. With Ewan McGregor, Jonny Lee Miller, Robert Carlyle, and Ewen Bremner set to reprise their roles as down and out drug addicts Renton, Sick Boy, Begbie, and Spud, respectively, and John Hodge back in the writer's seat, it's everything we could have hoped for and then some. "All the four main actors want to come back and do it," the Academy Award winning director told Telluride Film Festival, whilst promoting his latest film Steve Jobs. "Now it is only a matter of getting all their schedules together, which is complicated by two of them doing American TV series," he added, referring to Robert Carlyle, who stars in Once Upon A Time, and Jonny Lee Miller who stars in Elementary. Whether the film will be based on Irvine Welsh's Porno, the original sequel to his 1993 novel remains to be seen, either way we're excited.
