watch mø perform 'say you’ll be there' with her childhood hero mel c
The Danish singer lived out your ultimate Spice Girl fantasy over the weekend.
Ever since she started attracting buzz in 2014, Danish pop wonder MØ has drawn comparisons to Mel C. Not that she ever bristled at the parallel, she was a huge Spice Girl fan and, not surprisingly, Sporty was always her favorite. Speaking to Elle in 2014 she explained the appeal: "I think it was because I could relate to her; she was my kind of type. I was wearing tracksuits all the time, I was a sports girl, and hanging out with the guys. And then I always thought she was the one singing the best." Later that year she further cemented her fandom by covering the band's 1996 hit "Say You'll Be There."
Last year the two met when Mel C presented MØ with an award at the Danish Grammys. They clearly hit it off; over the weekend the athleisure fans teamed up to perform "Say You'll Be There" during the last show of MØ's UK tour.
After the show Mel C made it clear the feelings were reciprocated, posting an image of the two on Instagram with the caption: "Tonight I had the honor of sharing a stage @roundhouseldn with this incredible woman @momomoyouth she slayed #songs #vocals #energy #attitude She was inspired by the Spice Girls as a kid now she inspires me."
While we're pretty impressed, we have to admit our inner child is deeply jealous of them both right now. Check them out together below.
