Though she's probably best known for working with Diplo and Switch, M.I.A. has collaborated with a broad range of producers over the years, including Timbaland, Danja, Hit-Boy, Richard X and Rusko. But her latest collaborator could be her most unexpected yet: Skrillex.

M.I.A. shared a picture of the EDM icon on her Instagram the other day with the caption "on MATAHDATAH", which is the title of her forthcoming album. In July she unveiled a six-minute audiovisual project titled Matahdatah Scroll 01 'Broader Than A Border', and explained in a press release that it would be the first in a series of similar releases which "will ultimately come together to form Matahdatah - a full-length album and film experience about borders." Further details are pretty scarce, as is the M.I.A. way, but the album's expected to be released later this year.
