This May, work by some the most important photographers in the world will go on display at Somerset House as part of Photo London 2016. Spanning fine art, fashion, and photojournalism, this year's event will unite over 80 leading photography galleries in an incredible survey of the past, present and future of photographic talent. Photo London will take in work from 19th photography pioneer William Henry Fox, to the pioneering fashion photography of Erwin Blumenfeld, and Shirely Baker -- the unsung female pioneer of street photography who documented working class life in Manchester in the late 60s.

Alongside the main fair, three major exhibitions will also open at Somerset House. There will be a large survey of the incredible work of photojournalist Don McCullin, who's spent a fifty-year-long career documenting the people affected by war and conflict. His works will be joined by Russian photographer Sergei Chilikov, whose images explore the complexities and peculiarities of post-Soviet life in Russia. Turner Prize-nominated artist Craigie Horsfield will also exhibit his photographic works, which combine his famous images of faces in crowds, and his delicate, Caravaggio-esque portraiture. There will also be a series of talks and events, featuring esteemed photographers and cultural critics like Nick Knight, Martin Parr, Ranking, and Hans-Ulrich Obrist.
