Chromat Spring/Summer 15 Release Party
Designer Becca McCharen exploded onto the fashion and entertainment scene in 2010 with her line, Chromat, which puts out architecturally inspired clothing and accessories worn by the likes of Beyonce. To celebrate the release of the line's spring/summer 15 collection, Bushwick creative agency Witches is throwing a party at BRIC. Catch the debut of the fashion film "FORMULA 15," a performance and a drink-and-draw session from artist duo FlucT (Monica Mirabile and Sigrid Lauren), and a DJ set from A.E. Zimmer.

Tuesday, March 24 at 7PM, at BRIC, 647 Fulton Street, Brooklyn.

Brooklyn Girl Film Festival
This three-day festival of screenings and workshops celebrates independent women filmmakers both from Brooklyn and around the world. This year, look out for anticipated features like "Cathy Coppola" from Stefanie Sparks, "Ovum" from Sonja O'Hara, "The Sisterhood of the Night" from Caryn Waehter and Marilyn Fu, and documentary "Fly by Light" from Ellie Walton. An opening reception on Thursday night kicks off the lineup of full-length films, shorts, and an awards ceremony.

Thursday, March 26 at 5PM through Saturday, March 28 at Brooklyn Fire Proof Temporary Storage Galleries, 119 Ingraham Street.

Patti Smith and Jesse Smith
When you have the opportunity to see the iconic, inimitable Patti Smith, you go. When going involves helping out a good cause? Even better. NPO Honzo Haven is presenting this concert, "Hands On Live," to raise money for a naturopathy clinic to be built in the Catskill Mountains. Ms. Smith will be joined by her daughter, Jesse, an incredibly accomplished musician in her own right who has traveled the world composing and playing, and has lent her music to films, art installations and live performances.

Friday, March 27th at 7PM, at Le Poisson Rouge, 158 Bleecker Street.

Inside Out: Piper Kerman and Joe Loya
The Brooklyn Museum's conversation between Piper Kerman and Joe Loya is perfect for Orange is the New Black fans, people who plan on becoming incarcerated and journaling it, or just anyone interested in the art of memoir. Kerman will speak with Loya, a fellow convict with whom she corresponded while serving her time, who encouraged her to write about it and who has published his own book, The Man Who Outgrew His Prison Cell.

Saturday, March 28 at 2PM, at the Brooklyn Museum's Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Auditorium, 200 Eastern Parkway.

Perfect Pussy and Deerhoof
If you haven't had the chance to witness the second coming of punk via Perfect Pussy and its emotionally raw, incredibly talented vocalist, Meredith Graves, Saturday night is your chance. The buzzed-about band will take to the stage at Webster Hall with fellow punks Deerhoof, bringing the genre back to a time when a band could electrify its audience with high energy and searing lyrics. The show is naturally sold out, but you can still score a ticket through Stubhub, Craigslist, or, if you're lucky, a very generous friend.

Saturday, March 28 at 7:45PM at Webster Hall, 125 East 11th Street.
