watch miley cyrus in the new trailer for woody allen’s 'crisis in six scenes'
A hippyish Cyrus criticizes Woody Allen’s character and eats his ‘navel oranges’ in the trailer to the director's first ever TV show.
It's the collaboration no one expected — former Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus and prolific filmmaker Woody Allen joining forces for a new Amazon Prime series — and yet here we are. A new trailer reveals the first glimpse of online streaming's strangest odd couple.
Set in the 1960s, Crisis in Six Scenes follows Allen's typically neurotic character, as he struggles to keep up with the social change of the time. Judging by the trailer, that change comes courtesy of a hippyish Cyrus, the former Disney actress turned pop star telling Allen: "I don't dislike you. It's just everything you stand for."
The half-hour, six-episode comedy marks Allen's first venture into scripted television. The controversial 80-year old filmmaker told the LA Times earlier this year: "I don't know what I'm doing. I'm floundering. I expect this to be a cosmic embarrassment." Check out the trailer below.
