question time with lucky blue smith
This Friday 30 September at 4pm GMT we’re hosting a Facebook Live fan Q&A with your favourite blonde-haired, blue-eyed dreamboat drummer. Super exclusive treats guaranteed. Submit questions now! #askluckyblue
He's so lucky - he's a star! We know, we know… it's his big blue eyes and the way he really cares about his fans. The fact that as well as a top model, he's a movie star and in a really cool band with his beautiful sisters. Currently working on The Atomics' debut album with Pyper, Starlie and Daisy, as well as gearing up to release his book, Stay Golden, we don't know how Lucky Blue makes time for anything else. But somehow he does, and fresh from sitting front row with the family at Milan Fashion week, he's just touched down in London for something very exciting indeed. Pay attention, Lucky Charms!
This Friday 30 September, i-D will be hosting a Facebook Live Q&A with Mr Smith at approx 4pm GMT. Have you ever asked yourself WWLBSD? Or maybe you've got a burning 'would you rather' just waiting for his answer? Desperate to know what he dreamt last night? Leave a comment on Facebook or hashtag #askluckyblue on twitter. In addition to answering your questions, Lucky will be reading part of his book exclusively to viewers during the live stream, so be sure to join us over on the i-D Facebook page.
For now, read on and weep with joy as Lucky Blue warms up for tomorrow and answers our questions about the last book he read, his thoughts on true love, and which Hogwarts house he reckons he'd be sorted into...
Hi Lucky Blue! How was Milan for you?
Milan was fun. I went with my three sisters so it was nice to be together. The Dolce & Gabbana show was the best thing I saw!
Do you prefer to sitting front row or walking a show?
Sitting front row - you get to speak to people and see everything going on!
Do you believe in love everlasting?
Yeah, I do.
What do you know now that you wish you had known when you were 15?
I wish I knew more about how business works.
What can we expect from Stay Golden?
It's a book of my life story up until this point. I've detailed my experiences of everything from modelling to music and how these experiences have helped and shaped me.
Which is your favourite page in the book?
For me, my favourite part is the 'Levi's in Hollywood' chapter. I was so young when I did the shoot (fourteen) and when you're shooting such a massive campaign at such a young age... it was a huge deal! It was possibly my favourite shoot, I was super excited.
What was your favourite book when you were a kid?
Diary of a Wimpy Kid! I was obsessed with those books.
What's the last book you read?
Maze Runner - the films were awesome too.
When will we hear more from The Atomics?
Really soon! We're playing a gig on the 19 October at the Roxy in LA. We're releasing our album sometime next year and there are a few other things coming up! Me and my sisters are really excited!
What are you listening to at the moment?
Cyprus Hill, Biggie Smalls, James Brown, Jimi Hendrix. They all influence my music!
Where's the best place your work has taken you so far?
Definitely Iceland, shooting with Annie Leibovitz and with my sister Pyper. I'd never been there before and the scenery was so beautiful. We shot on the black sand beach and that was insane.
What have you learnt about yourself this year?
That I've grown an inch or two!
What do you want that you don't have?
A Rolls Royce!
What do you have that you don't want?
That's a really tricky question. I don't have a clue!
If you went to Hogwarts, which house would the sorting hart sort you into?
If you could ask anyone any question, who would you ask, and what?
I'd ask Steve Jobs what the real key to success is.
