PJ Harvey has shared the video for new single The Orange Monkey, the third to be taken from her UK number one album The Hope Six Demolition Project. Shot in Afghanistan, the video was directed by award-winning filmmaker Seamus Murphy and follows on from his work on previous singles The Wheel and controversial, Washington DC set The Community of Hope. Like those tracks, The Orange Monkey grew out of open studio sessions that saw former i-D cover star Harvey record in front of the public at London's Somerset House, drawing directly from four years of travelling in the process. "In December 2012 Polly joined me and we travelled together in Afghanistan," says director Seamus Murphy. "The Orange Monkey has warm, earthen colours with a pleasant, unrushed feel to it. There's an underlying melancholy, which is leavened by the strength and energy of the Afghan people. We know there is tragedy but what we see is resilience."

The Hope Six Demolition Project, PJ Harvey's ninth studio album, is out now.
