happy birthday, rihanna!
Our beloved Pisces bad girl turns 28 today; here's a look back at her 27th year.
Back in 1988, Robyn Rihanna Fenty was born in Barbados. Since then, this Pisces has taken this planet by storm. In just the past 365 days, this self-proclaimed "Bad Girl" has nabbed the spotlight and made her way into plenty of headlines — some breathtaking, some she may well want to forget — though her rabid fans will always adore her. Here, we track Rihanna's highlights of last year through the digital and pulp-based pages of i-D.
Starting last year off correct, i-D honored Ms. Fenty with the cover of its music issue at the very end of January.

In February of 2015, Rihanna released the powerful video for her new track "Fourfiveseconds."
Come March, RiRi and her bold-face-name friends — likes of Kanye West, Beyoncé, and Madonna — gathered together to launch music-streaming site Tidal.
When April hit, we were so starved for a new album from her that we compiled videos of her eight best songs.
In May, after a bunch of teaser clips Rihanna and Dior released the entire film, "Secret Garden," that she created with Steven Klein.
When summertime hit, she dropped the a teaser trailer for "Bitch Better Have My Money" in June, and it was awesome and terrifying.
In mid-July, Rihanna figured out how to make hosiery revolutionary.
During the next month, she was announced as a "key advisor" to The Voice.
By September, we here at i-D were charting her fiercest fashion-show looks for the spring/summer 2016 shows in New York.
In October, RiRi thrilled fans by releasing the cover art for her long-awaited new album #ANTI, her first full-length album since 2012.
And — yes! — at long last, she announced her world tour in November.
Proof that her Puma partnership is real, RiRi sold a front-row ticket to her show in December for a whopping $15,000 — all proceeds benefitted the charity the Clara Lionel Foundation, named for her beloved grandparents.
In late January, the world saw Ms. Fenty's return to work with, well, the sexy, twerk-heavy teaser for her single (featuring her ex Drake), "Work."
Of course, earlier this month, Rihanna had a triumph of an entirely different order. She launched her well-received fashion line, Fenty Puma, the day before Valentine's Day; and the i-D team even got backstage access.

After this long year of awesome triumphs, it's not surprising at all that the adored Bad Girl cancelled her performance at the Grammys (she said bronchitis, insiders said she had a diva moment).
We hope that today RiRi got to chill, relax with her loved ones, and eat cake — she deserves lots and lots of cake.
