check out the new royal college of art graduates
See how the MA graduates fared under the new direction of Zowie Broach.
It was a big year for the Royal Academy of Art, with previous senior researcher Zowie Broach replacing Wendy Dagworthy as Head of Fashion. Dagworthy had headed up the programme for 16 years, raising the likes of Stella McCartney, Hussein Chalayan, Erdem and Giles Deacon.
The course's new leader swapped the traditional catwalk show for a choreographed display, with models showing off the young designers' wares in a non-linear performance. 46 MA graduates presented a fast moving and imaginative display of flashing lights, inflatables and phallic objects…
Womenswear designer Rebecca Stant's sculptural creations with cut out chunks revealing the skin underneath, stood out, alongside Nan Li's provocative lumps and bumps and Une Yea's luminous accessories.
