Earlier this year we told you all the things we know about Matt Groening’s new show for Netflix, Disenchanted. Mainly: Broad City’s Abbi Jacobson will star as a princess, it will take place in a medieval kingdom called Dreamland, the head writer of Futurama (David X Cohen) is working on it, and it also features The Brain from Pinky and the Brain, which is a vibe.

Now we have something else to add to that list: a trailer. “You’ve seen the future in Futurama. You’ve seen the present in The Simpsons. So what’s the obvious third move? The past, of course”, the teaser begins. It also features some very Futurama-esque animations (which makes sense, because it’s being worked on by the same team — Rough Draft Studios, Inc.), and “a pile of scum” (Abbi’s character).

The 10 episode series comes out on August 17 on Netflix, and, according to a statement from Matt last year, is “about life and death, love and sex, and how to keep laughing in a world full of suffering and idiots, despite what the elders and wizards and other jerks tell you”. Themes to live by.
