Billie Eilish just dropped a new music video
Just in time for the release of 'No Time to Die' next month!
Billie Eilish has been laying a little low over the past few months, which was probably a good idea for the teen pop prodigy. Since announcing her arrival in music some four years ago now, Billie has barely stopped. A hit EP turned into worldwide tours that turned into a Grammy-sweeping debut album that spurred a new tour on top of that. We were hoping she’d take five at some point. Well, after starting 2020 pretty well, with those aforementioned Grammys, a surprise appearance as the voice behind the new Bond theme and a little mid-Rona release called “My Future”, Billie is back in front of the lens, with the official video for that track: “No Time to Die”.
Shot in moody black-and-white, as is the case with almost every Bond theme video, it sees Billie singing straight into the lens. Either her hair upkeep has been incredible over the past few months or this was shot a while ago, because those iconic day-glo green roots remain. It is, of course, interspersed with clips of Daniel Craig getting shot at, cars flipping and setting on fire, and Lea Seydoux looking actually iconic, because this is a Bond video after all.
Just a few weeks before “No Time To Die” was meant to hit cinemas, the coronavirus pandemic pushed back its release date until October; a move that essentially marked the beginning of the entertainment industry’s imminent demise in the face of global lockdown. Now, with cases still running rampant throughout much of the population of the UK, Europe and the US, we’ll finally get our first look at the film on 12 November. It’s set to be the longest film in the series, at 2 hours and 43 minutes. Yikes.
Nevertheless, how nice it is to have Billie back. And just in time for her to win an Oscar! See you on 25 April, queen!
