Cardi B disappeared from the spotlight earlier this month, abruptly deleting her Instagram after being cyberbullied by Azealia Banks. We were left wondering when we would see our queen again. Fortunately, Cardi B’s sabbatical did not last long. The rapper has reactivated her Instagram and, even better, delivered a new music video for Be Careful.

The visual heavily draws from Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill, with Cardi reminding us of The Bride as she and her groom prepare to marry in the exact same Western-tinged chapel. But, as in the film, the two do not live in holy matrimony for long. The next scene sees Cardi at a funeral — for her groom. But far from shedding a tear, she looks down at her slain husband with a smile on her face. We get the message loud and clear: don’t mess with Cardi.

This isn't the first pop video to reference Tarantino. Beyoncé and Lady Gaga delivered back to back Tarantino-esque videos in 2010. Telephone saw the two stars drive around in the pussy wagon from Kill Bill, embarking on a murder rampage. While Video Phone featured costumes that referenced Kill Bill’s Crazy 88 and channeled the director’s fondness for gunfire.

This steady arsenal of bangers from Cardi is showing the world that, yes, it is possible to be one of the top female rappers and pregnant at the same time. One of our fave Cardi moments will forever be her twerking on stage at Coachella, baby bump and all.
