anna wintour got lost in the basement and cried at yeezy season 3

'I thought I could sneak out without anybody noticing,' she explained on 'Late Night With Seth Meyers' last night. She thought wrong.

The most emotional part of Kanye West's Madison Square Garden extravaganza for Yeezy Season 3 did not take place on stage. Nor did it take place on the giant screens, where Kanye debuted a clip from a video game about his mom flying through the gates of heaven, or in the stands, where the royal family floated in dressed like bedazzled cirrus clouds. It took place in the basement, where a lost Anna Wintour was wandering around in tears (and probably still in sunglasses) after trying to slip out of the show early.

On Late Night With Seth Meyers last night, fashion's infamous ice queen revealed to the world how she became unexpectedly familiar with the layout of the stadium's lower levels. "We were waiting for the Kardashians to arrive en masse — and Jay-Z," she explained. "So eventually they did turn up, and The Life of Pablo concert started, and the 'migrant chic' fashion show started, and they were both wonderful." However the notoriously prompt editrix had probably been sitting there for over an hour at this point.

"After 45 minutes, I did happen to notice that Jay-Z had slid away, so I thought maybe I could sneak out after him without anybody noticing," she continued. "But I slid into the basement of Madison Square Garden, and I was lost there for half an hour, asking various people to let me out. I was really in tears. Then this little security guard came up to me and said, 'Did your son play baseball for collegiate?' I said, 'Yes?' He said, 'I was his coach! Can I help you?'"

We don't know which part sounds more stressful — being lost in the basement or being around all those hoodies
