As an LA native, it figures that photographer Richard Ramirez Jr. knows how to take a good shot of his fellow valley dwellers. He sent us some sun drenched snaps of his angelic crew, and we grilled them about what else is good in LA besides the $1 tacos.

What’s your favourite LA spot?
I love going for a walk down the strip of Sunset from the beginning of Echo Park till it meets Hollywood Blvd, there’s so much culture and so many interesting things to do.

I'm trying to figure that out at the moment… I just dropped out of art school. I've studied everything from figure drawing to design to performance art and now have to decide what I'm going to do with all that.

I have some library fines I really need to take care of.

What’s it like to live in LA in 2017?
It's incredibly beautiful in every sense. Everything in Los Angeles, from the people to the places, is pretty dreamy in its own way. I feel incredibly lucky to call this place home.

Unpredictable. LA is all about timing. Beyoncé’s dad’s side hustle could be driving Lyft on the weekends, and that could be how you become Beyoncé’s photographer. That’s how LA is.

What is your favorite spot in Los Angeles?
It is quite a drive, then a specific path up a mountain, at the top, you can see over hundreds of miles of hills and flatlands, mountains and rivers. The clouds roll closely. It is important to be near them for me.

Angelic. Almost where an Angel would live, but I still feel a bit lost.
