That streetwear and high fashion are now often one and the same is something you probably already know. The sternly delineated boundaries that once separated the two worlds have overlapped and blurred -- and all for the better. A key figure in heralding this new chapter of fashion history is, of course, Kim Jones, whose collections for Dior Men’s have effortlessly blended its heritage and savoir-faire with a directional, contemporary aesthetic. The latest physical testament to The Kim Years at the house is a new sneaker silhouette: the B27.
Embodying the sporty spirit he’s invigorated fashion with throughout his career, the shoe -- available as both a high and low top -- brings influences as varied as 80s vintage sneakers and skateboarding together with the leatherworking expertise of Dior’s Italian ateliers. They’re also an expression of some of the house’s best-loved materials, combining a supple calf leather with the iconic Dior Oblique motif in both woven jacquard and perforated leather. Further nods to the house’s proud codes also come in the form of ‘CD’ signature eyelets as well as the black, white and grey colourways, with the latter well known to be Monsieur Dior’s favourite shade.
In a fresh new development in the fusion of fashion and tech, the house is launching a shoppable lens that allows users to virtually try the six new sneaker silhouettes on for size. So if you can’t make it down to your local Dior boutique to pick a pair from the 30th of October onwards, you’ll be able to hop over to their website to try them on there! What a time to be alive!
