Stop what you’re doing! 88rising family member Lexie Liu just released her debut EP, 2030. With a feature from Killy on Outta Time, plus new singles Sleep Away, Hat Trick and Nada, the eight-tracker is an impressive bilingual project showcasing the Changsha born and raised artist’s skills across rap, R&B vocals and production. EP closer Mulan is the real stand-out here; an empowering track about loyalty, succeeding for your family and your people. A banging opening number for this week's BEST NEW MUSIC playlist.

Japanese band CHAI shared fun new single Fashionista today. Not heard of them? “We are CHAI,” says their bio. “When you think of all things pink, a sound that fuses the likes of Basement Jaxx, The Gorillaz, CSS and Tom Tom Club, with lyrics focussed on women empowerment and redefining the definition of ‘kawaii’... you think of CHAI.” There’s a lot going on there, but we’re into it.

More posthumous Lil Peep music this week. This time in the form of I’ve Been Waiting, featuring some of Gustav’s favourite artists, Fall Out Boy and previous collaborator ILOVEMAKONNEN. It's surprisingly shiny-happy commercial-friendly stuff. Then there’s Certy by Double S and Skepta, Christ Flow by exciting new London artist Barny Fletcher, Aries with SANTA MONICA, Norwegian duo Lekende Lett’s Gale, Cyboogie by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Nothing Changes by Biig Piig, Swedish metal band Vokonis with Grasping Time and so much more where that came from. Press play and have a good one, music fans.
