new york fashion week gets a new home
Perhaps in a twist of fate, it's where Yeezy showed his adidas line already.
Since NYFW was booted out of its Lincoln Center home early following a dispute with NYC Parks advocates, we've been waiting to hear where the designers, press, paps and bloggers will be heading for next season's shows. The CFDA recently confirmed that its first New York Fashion Week: Mens would set up shop at Skylight Clarkson Square, and today, IMG confirmed the main event will follow suit.
Mark Shapiro, chief content officer at IMG, told WWD, "We're looking forward to reintroducing the industry to a showcase of creative talent, style and innovation that made the New York runways famous. Part of this showcase involves staying close to inspirational hubs for fashion, art and music, and we've found a great new home for that in Skylight at Moynihan Station and Skylight Clarkson Sq.
Funnily enough, Kanye opted to skip the Lincoln Center hullabaloo last season, instead showing his first clothing collection for adidas at Skylight Moynihan. In his ongoing battle for acceptance from the fashion world, we're wondering whether Yeezy got wind of the new spot and took great pleasure in beating them all to it.
