ice cube, tyler, the creator, and kelela confirmed for afropunk 2016
America's most multicultural music festival remains a gem in the 2016 festival circuit.

The 2016 Afropunk lineup has finally arrived. Between August 27 and 28, "the most multicultural festival in the U.S." will host Ice Cube, TV on the Radio, Tyler the Creator, Flying Lotus, Janelle Monae, The Internet, Earl Sweatshirt, Kelela, and more on its three legendary stages. The list also includes another superjam featuring members of Bad Brains, Fishbone, and Living Colour. Especially after last year's appearances from headliners Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, and Lenny Kravitz, Afropunk has truly cultivated its spot as one of the best festivals for true, uninhibited alternative culture.
Between its relatively new Paris and Atlanta dates, the original New York fest is set to impress as not only a musical highlight of the summer, but also as a fashion and style mecca. Tickets for the fest, which is held at Commodore Barry Park in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, are on sale now and, once again, there are also several awesome ways to earn a ticket by volunteering. Meanwhile, the Fancy Dress Ball — the foundation of which was laid by none other than Grace Jones last year — and Afropunk After Dark, an after party experience on the streets of Fort Greene and Williamsburg, are still keeping us waiting for lineup updates.
