sia says rihanna is still looking for tracks for anti
Despite persistent rumours that Rihanna’s album will drop any day now, collaborator Sia has revealed it could be a way off yet.
It feels like we've been waiting for Rihanna's eighth studio album ANTi to drop forever. It's been three long years since Unapologetic, and with the launch of ANTiDiaRy, an immersive smartphone experience created in partnership with Punchdrunk and Samsung, and the announcement of her 2016 ANTI world tour, it had been expected that the album would drop any day now.
Not so, says collaborator Sia. Speaking on Jo Whiley's BBC Radio 2 show, the face-covering songwriter revealed that Rihanna is actually still looking for tracks to put on the album.
"She came over to my house for the first time the other night. I had met her very briefly before -- super sweet person -- and the other night she came over and listened to half of 25 songs I played her because she's still looking for songs for her new album," Sia says, adding, "She was there clearly to listen to songs and see if there was anything she was into, it was a business meeting, for sure".
Sia goes on to say that Rihanna took four tracks, but that she doesn't know if they will be on the album, though she does add, "I'm pretty sure I have one on the new album but I don't know if I'll end up with more than that".
Looks like we won't be seeing ANTI drop until 2016, though presumably it will appear before the tour starts in San Diego on 26 February.
