After posting a shot with Barbadian babe Rihanna at Jay-Z's Tidal launch earlier this week, it seems Madonna has taken a page out of the Bad Gal's social media handbook. Late last night, the pop provocateur posted a fully nude photo on Instagram with a solo black bar obscuring her breasts. The post complies with Instagram's User Policy, and that's exactly the issue: "Why is it OK to show ass but not breasts?" the singer writes. "Drowning in the hypocrisy of social media #artforfreedom #unapologeticbitch #rebelheart."

Madonna's nude shot has racked up over 66,000 likes, and a fairly heated comments section. Some users have shown their support, "You're right, it doesn't make sense!" while others question whether showing either is empowering at all--some have even brought the Bible into the fold. It's the kind of pot stirring that after 30 years as one of the most controversial artists in the music industry, Madonna has perfected.
