Plan B in Brixton was an institution, so when it shut down last month, there were fears that it was going to be another permanent blow for London nightlife. But the good news for party people is that buyers The Columbo Group, who run XOYO, The Nest and The Old Queen's Head have just announced that they will be launching a new club on the site this September. The plan is to strip back the previous nightclub by having just one dancefloor, one sound system and one DJ all night (with a rotating schedule every Friday, but a resident every Saturday). The director of XOYO and The Nest, Andy Peyton, will be in charge, and here's what he had to say: "We've got a very specific plan and set rules for ourselves to make the club into the place we want it to be: a dance floor full of people with smiles on their faces, not facing the DJ with camera phones at the ready, but enjoying the music for it's own sake." Launch weekend and full line-up information will be released on Monday 3rd August.
