dover street market closes the storefront where it all began
As the saying goes, when one door shuts another door opens. Dover Street Market, the store famed for tearing out their interior every season, are certainly no strangers to rebirth, but they're never shred their skin on this scale. The brand temple will be closing their flagship Dover Street premises—where it all began—at the beginning of March.
This isn't goodbye, it's just a new chapter. DSM will reopen on March 19 at their new London premises, 18-21 Haymarket. The Tokyo, Beijing and New York branches will stay put, and, as always, their website is always open. Still, it's a bittersweet move given that Rei Kawakubo's concept store occupied its namesake street for 11 years.
To commiserate the closing of the original door, DSM will be share a photographic progress report of the shutdown every Tuesday at 2PM GMT. If that isn't enough to comfort you, think of the brand-new Singapore store in the works.
