This weekend thousands marched across the UK in defence of the welfare state and in protest against the government's austerity programme. We hit the streets with them to find out what they stand for.
Where are you from?
Why are you here?
To speak out against the Tory government targeting the most vulnerable people in society.
What do you stand for?
I believe everyone should be given equal opportunities and resources and treated with respect. No one should be placed above another because of their class, race or gender.
If you were Prime Minister, what would you do?
Put the emphasis on creating a less toxic and hateful society, rather than money and power.
Do you think you're better off than your parents generation?
I feel that, as a black woman, I have more freedom to express myself and my voice has the chance to be heard through things like social media. In this sense, yes I think I am better off.
Do the people have the power?
No, the mass corporations and bankers have the power.
