'The Fifth Element' director is asking 20 finalists to design the costumes for his new sci-fi flick, starring model-turned-actress Cara Delevingne.
Always fancied yourself as a costume designer? Think your designs could be as good as Jean-Paul Gaultier's? Well now you can finally put your skills to the test. Cult king of sci-fi, Luc Besson, is giving 20 talented costume designers a chance to design the looks for his upcoming epic Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, starring Cara Delevingne, Clive Owen, and Dane DeHaan.
"Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets encompasses a diverse array of characters from all parts of the universe," revealed The Fifth Element director, "I believe the world we live in is filled with people from all walks of life who possess an abundance of creativity and untapped potential. My hope is that by offering a contest like this to artists worldwide, we will gain access to inspired and original creations from a plethora of fresh perspectives, and the film will benefit from this collaboration." Set in the year 2580, in a space station named Alpha, designs must be alien, humanoid, and human friendly and must be fit for political party scene. You have until November 27 to submit your design, so get started, quick!
