In its inimitable way, the creators of The Simpsons have found a way to skewer the race for the 2016 presidential election in way that is hilarious-yet-real.

As reported by Variety, today Matt Groening and his team have released a two-and-half-minute stand-alone video, "The Debateful Eight," wherein Marge has a nightmare of the vitriolic nature of the debates. She wakes in the middle of the night and yells, "Basic manners are gone from politics! What's wrong with these ding-dongs?"

When she wakes up the house, Homer tries to calm Bart, Lisa, and Maggie by telling them, "It's just like when you have a bad dream, except this is real and will probably ruin your lives." (We wish this were the funny part.)
