It has been 30 years that the International Festival of Fashion and Photography of Hyères reveals and enthrone those who will ensure the future of fashion. This year, the 10 stylists in competition have presented their collection to the watchful eye of Julien Dossena, artistic director of Paco Rabanne and president of the jury. A show that confirmed the advent of a great generation of talents and promised a beautiful future for the fashion industry.

This year, the jury decided to award Watarru Tominaga with the Grand Jury Prize for his collection, that broke gender frontiers and mixing rough material and bright patterns - a vision in phase with a new generation, united and unisex. A 15 000 euros grant was given to the Japanese designer by Première Vision to support him in his creation. Tominaga will also work closely with Chanel's Métiers d'Arts on different feather and embroidery workshops as well as with Petit Bateau who doted the winner a 10,000 euros grant.

Chloé also took part of the award distribution with its eponymous price and chose to honour the Finnish fashion duo Hanne Jurmu and Anton Vartiainen. Their collection explored the different links existing between environment and fashion and they reflected on how one another can make the world better have seduced the French house. The duo was also granted of 15 000 euros in order to develop their political vision and great aesthetics.

One of the prize winners, either Watarru Tominaga or Hanne Jurmu and Anton Vartiainen, will be selected by Mercedes-Benz for a presentation during Berlin Fashion Week spring/summer 17.

Under the leadership of the immortal William Klein, the photography jury awarded the photographer Vendula Knopova and her work exploring souvenirs. Her humour and instinctive approach to photography seduced the jury.

And now this 31st edition of Hyères' Festival is coming to an end, we can say with ease that fashion and photography will be brought forward by an amazing generation of young creatives, more engaged and aware than ever.
