Barney Artist is the purveyor of smooth, laid back, blissed out hip hop that we are fast becoming addicted to. The East London born and raised wordsmith's name comes from his desire to "paint sounds" through his influences including jazz, hip hop, and grime. His words are commentary and considered while still retaining a playful touch and his latest drop — featuring the production and vocal talents of rising superstar producer Tom Misch — vibes out with with sunshine laden grooves.

The track itself is about "being scared to take that huge step and start a relationship because you don't want it to go wrong...I think most of us can relate to that!" explains Barney. "The response from Painting Sounds has been unreal so I'm really excited for people to see this soppy video from me and Tom! It's directed by my good friend Gerald Boye and I think it represents the song really well and gives it a new spin."

Barney Artist's Painting Sounds EP is out now.
