When Amateur Best aka Joe Flory set out to write his second full-length record, The Gleaners, he envisioned it being a concept album about a charity shop-bought doll's house. Eventually settling on something altogether less niche, the Birmingham-based musician decided that he wanted to write songs about his own life, set to the most exciting music and production he could come up with. And so he did, in between touring with the brilliant Chilly Gonzales and his Kaiser Quartet, for who he drums."Mixing it myself made me slightly crazy," he explains, "but I love the sound of something that has been entirely directed by one person."

Following on from the well-received lead single Marzipan (a soundcloud follower commented, "this sounds so happy. I hated marzipan, but this makes me feel more open to marzipan."), we are pleased to present the premiere of They Know. 100% achieving his goal, this track is the highest grade of electronic pop. His nonchalant vocals complement the warm synth layers and deep but delicate stabs of bass so perfectly, the subtle sexy sax appearance so right, that this is one funky summer tune that'll have people dancing into the night. Hit go! Get to know Joe!

The Gleaners is due for release this October via Brille Records. Pre-order here.
