In a highly charged essay, prompted by the sexist backlash against her nude selfie, Kim Kardashian declared the following: "I am empowered by my body. I am empowered by my sexuality. I am empowered by feeling comfortable in my skin. I am empowered by showing the world my flaws and not being afraid of what anyone is going to say about me. And I hope that through this platform I have been given, I can encourage the same empowerment for girls and women all over the world."

True to form, her words seem to have resonated, with stars such as Sharon Osbourne, Emily Ratajkowski, and Bette Midler taking to social media to create their own nude selfies, all in the name of female empowerment. "@kimkardashian you inspired me! #liberated #thetalk," tweeted Osbourne. "Love when a man comments on a woman's decision to post a nude photo. Her body, her career," added Ratajkowski, who has had her own experience with sexist bullshit in past. Taking things one step further is Bette Midler, who basically started the whole beef in the first place with her comment about swallowing a camera. She is using her selfie as a means of spreading awareness for her Sing for Stages charity.

But it doesn't stop there, also voicing their support for the selfie queen were Demi Lovato, Christina Milian, Rowan Blanchard, and actors Bella Thorne and Abigail Breslin. Most surprising, however, was best frenemy Amber Rose, who took to Instagram to defend her ex's new wife against 00s singer P!nk with a powerful message about female liberation. "Damn Pink," wrote the former stripper, who is no stranger to being slut shamed herself (by Kanye West no less), "we were all born naked society sexualizes our breast and bodies. If a grown mother of 2 is comfortable with her body and wants to show it off that's none of ur business or anyone else's." Do you hear that, Patriarchy? We're coming for ya!
