He gave us Mathilda, and he gave us LeeLoo, now we can't wait to see what characters Luc Besson dreams up for Cara Delevingne and her newly announced co-star, Rihanna (!!!), in his latest film Valérian and the City of a Thousand Planets. Taking to Instagram, the writer and director of Léon: The Professional and The Fifth Element, revealed: "RIHANNA is in VALERIAN!!!!! ....and she has a big part!! I'm Sooo excited!!!" He posted the news alongside an image of Rihanna from her latest shoot in i-D no less…

RiRi will be starring alongside Clive Owen, Dane Dehaan as Valérian, and (long time BFF) Cara Delevingne as Valérian's flame-haired sidekick, Laureline. Based on French graphic novel Valérian and Laureline created by Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mezieres in 1967, it tells the story of a time-traveller from the future and is set for release in July 2017.

While Cara's quit modeling to concentrate on her acting career, Bad Gal RiRi's only had small film parts so far, in Battleship and Annie. She also lent her voice to the main character in animated movie, Home. But judging by Besson's Insta-caption, it looks like this could be the BBHMM singer's biggest role yet.
