Malmo’s finest young house talent steps into the mix for i-D.
Malmo, Sweden's third largest city, is, according to Wikipedia at least, has been home to The Cardigans, Anita Ekberg, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Quite the #squadgoals. Well, providing the thumping and jacking soundtrack to their night on the town, is Malmo's finest young house producer Armand Jakobsson, aka Rimbaudian; named after the French symbolist poet Arthur Rimbaud, who retired from writing aged just 21 and sailed around the world. Rimbaudian though is a bit less romantic than his namesake but just as globetrotting; his heavy and heady slices of jacking house reference sleazy Miami drum machines and glimmering west coast funk. Despite being from a family of musicians, (his dad and sister are opera singers, his mother a cellist) Rimbaudian only took up music whilst studying in Edinburgh, and taught himself everything he knows. As he drops his debut EP on Meda Fury, he steps into the mix for i-D.
