Materialism doesn't have to be a dirty word, according to new Shoreditch shop One Good Deed Today (OGDT). The beautifully-executed lifestyle store, which opened on Kingsland Road this week, is a mecca to masterfully-made material objects (including candles, soaps, 'zines and clothes) which sees them supporting craftsmen and small businesses. You can also pop in for coffee from Bonanza Coffee Roasters in Berlin, and fresh treats from Crosstown Doughnuts. Two years in the making, owner Romain Camus's shop (designed by Creative Director Sophie Lou Borch-Jacobsen) is inspiringly bright, and its buy showcases design-led, ethical and sustainable goods. You'll feel better spending money here too, because OGDT donate 5% of all proceeds to hand-picked charities, which you can choose upon purchase. When spring comes round again (bring it!), you can take it easy on their outdoor terrace, and a small sound studio will soon be open for hire.
