kanye wins a webby for his contributions to the internet

Congratulations are in order -- not just for us (we won our Webby for Best Fashion and Beauty Website) -- but for King of Everything, Kanye West, who will be awarded a Special Achievement Award at this years Webby Awards for his "contributions to internet culture." Looks like those Twitter rants weren't all for nothing!

Jokes aside, the award recognizes the outstanding achievements of Ye's latest album, The Life of Pablo, which was the first of its kind to reach number 1 on the Billboard charts based on streaming. In a statement, Webby Awards executive director David-Michel Davies praises Yeezy for leveraging the "immense influence and addictive elements of streaming media to drive innovation on the internet."

Elsewhere in Kanyeland, the rapper and father of two can be seen making an appearance in the newly released video for French Montana's Max B-hosted mixtape Wave Gods. Take a peek below.
