bella hadid wants to photograph fashion editorials
The newly minted model of the year wants to get on the other side of the camera, and says she's got the eye for it.
The Fashion Los Angeles Awards wrapped up last night and Bella Hadid walked away with the "model of the year" title. The entire Hadid clan came through to support her, as did her partner, Abel Tesfaye (aka The Weeknd). While the evening itself simply confirmed something we already know—Bella's feline face has staying power in the fashion world—a brief interview she gave before the ceremony gave away some fresh insights into the model's life.
Speaking with The Daily about the year that won her the crown, Bella revealed her divine circle of model besties starts with her sister Gigi and Stella Maxwell -- the trio even look like family -- and extends to Alexander Wang favorites Lexi Boling and Binx Walton. "They're all really fun," said Bella, "They've been doing it for a while, so I follow their lead." While she emphasized how blessed she felt to have had such a successful first season, Bella revealed her next ambition is stepping behind the camera.
"I got into school at Parsons for photography," Bella explained, noting she even attended for a year before modeling took over her time. When asked if she saw fashion photography in her future, Bella gave an unequivocal yes. "I'm learning so much from the photographers that I'm working with that I'd love to shoot editorials eventually. I have a good eye for it. I feel blessed I can learn while I'm working." We wouldn't mind looking over a Bella Hadid editorial, though for now, we're happy just to watch L.A through her eyes.
