Ceyenne Doroshow: "I find myself amazed and confused"
The legendary founder of GLITS Inc. has been leading the charge
Ceyenne’s story originally appeared in up + rising, a celebration of extraordinary Black voices, and is the first chapter of i-D's 40th anniversary issue (1980-2020).
i-D chronicled over 100 activists and artists, musicians and writers, photographers and creatives, in Atlanta, Baltimore, Minneapolis, LA, London, New York, Paris and Toronto.
“I find myself amazed and confused.
Amazed with how much good stuff myself and my team are putting together here in New York and often confused by the naysayers and the people that just have nothing good to say because they have nothing good to do. I rebuke that demon and start with the love and compassion that I give to my community and others and on a global level.
With that being said, in the hurricane called Covid-19, we at GLITS Inc. led this charge with many tears and direct response to action. That action has kicked off what has never been done in New York, which is obtaining equity in the State of New York for the TLGBQIA+ community and everything else in that umbrella.
I, Ceyenne Doroshow, hope I inspire you to inspire others.” Ceyenne Doroshow
